Valuable populations of rare and endangered species occur in the Emirates that have conservation, tourism and monetary value. Approximately 30 000 animals, spread across the Emirate, have been placed in Barari’s care by Government.

Barari Forest Management developed a game altconservation management plan with strategies on optimised use of forests for game production and utilization. The potential role of the forests in relation
to a national game conservation management strategy is significant.

There is particularly great potential for rare species breeding, game production and utilization (meat & products) and hunting (local- & trophy hunters). Forests however have variable potential for game breeding, hunting and other forms of utilization.
